Additional Tutoring and Mentoring Services at UL!The Writing Lab is located in the Dupre Library, First Floor. It provides in-person assistance to help students brainstorm, draft, and edit essays. The Math Lab is located in Lee Hall, room 110. Staffed by Graduate students from the Math Department, The Math Lab is a "drop-in" style center where you can find help with most undergraduate math courses. For more information visits: https://math.louisiana.edu/current-students/tutoring. The Biology Mentors are available to all UL students who are taking Biology courses and need that extra help! Not only will they help you to understand the content, they will also provide you tips/tricks for studying for demanding science courses! During the day, you can find the mentors in Billeaud Hall, room 106-D (enter room 106 and then you will see the entry way for 106-D) from 8am to 2pm. After 2pm, mentors are set up in Dupre Library, next to the reference desk, until 8pm. The Chemistry Mentors are available to all UL students who are taking Chemistry courses and need that extra help! Not only will they help you to understand the content, they will also provide you tips/tricks for studying for demanding science courses! During the day, you can find the mentors in Montgomery Hall, room 120-B from 8am to 3pm. After 3pm, mentors are set up in Dupre Library, next to the reference desk, until 8pm! Computer Science Mentoring Matters The Computer Science Mentors are available to all UL students who are taking CMPS 150, 260, or 261 courses and need that extra help! Not only will they help you to understand the content, they will also provide you tips/tricks for studying for demanding science courses! You can find the mentors in Oliver Hall, room 213. Click the link above to see their current mentoring schedule! If you need extra help with Accounting 201 or 202, you can visit the Sunday tutoring presented by Beta Alpha Psi! Most Sundays throughout the semester, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, members of Beta Alpha Psi are set up on the 2nd floor of Dupre Library waiting and willing to help you out! Need more help? There is instructor-led tutoring available, too! Language Resource Center (LRC) is available to all language learners at UL Lafayette. You can drop by the LRC to meet up with graduate assistants and other students for conversation practice, helpful hints, learning strategies, study help, or just to have some fun with people who share your interest in language. Located in HL Griffin, room 109! Eligible participants can take advantage of FREE opportunities in the Academic, Support, Financial, Career, and Computer areas. Are you: Receiving a Pell Grant? Did Neither Parent Graduate from College? Have a Documented Disability? If you said yes to ANY of these, then you may be eligible! Click Here to complete the application. Academic services include: tutoring in math, sciences, behavioral sciences (psychology, sociology, etc.), assistance in writing (developing a thesis statement, discussing ideas, etc.), and assistance in English courses (punctuation, grammar, etc.).
