Virtual tutoring available for students

The Learning Center has transitioned to virtual tutoring and is available to assist students in a variety of courses. TLC's operating hours remain 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays.

Tutoring will be conducted through Zoom, free online meeting software. The online meetings will be accessible via computer, mobile phones, and smart tablets.

The process of scheduling appointments has not changed. Students can call (337) 482-6583, chat via the chat box on the center’s website, or email tlc@louisiana.edu.

After making an appointment, students will receive an email with instructions and links to Zoom meetings before their scheduled appointments.

Students will not be required to create accounts or pay for extra services.

TLC staff asks students to be patient as they work to become familiar with the software during tutoring appointments. All TLC desk assistants and tutors were given a brief training on the software and will work to continue offering quality service.

Students will also have the option to utilize online tutoring offered through NetTutor. If you prefer to use NetTutor, contact TLC’s professional staff for further assistance.

The Writing Center

The Writing Center, supported by the Department of English, has moved its operations online to support all students. Schedule an appointment by emailing writingcenter@louisiana.edu from your University-issued email account or calling (337) 482-5224. Leave a message with a return phone number and a good call-back time.

Students should expect a response according to the following schedule. Please note that response times may be extended during the week of Spring Break.

Online Program Students

Students enrolled in online and hybrid courses or programs have access to online tutoring services. If you are enrolled in a course that was online or hybrid prior to March 18, 2020, check your Moodle dashboard for a course labeled Tutoring Help. Follow the instructions in that course to access tutoring services.
