How do I withdraw from a class after Schedule Adjustment ends?

Junior Division students must report to 115 Lee Hall to see a counselor and obtain a drop card. If you are an Upper Division student you must report to your Academic Dean. The last day to drop a class with a "W" is published in the Schedule of Classes (newspaper).

A student attempting to drop a class after the deadline must appeal to the Academic Dean of his/her college and present proof of extenuating circumstances. Extenuating circumstances might include, but are not limited to, prolonged medical problems, death in the immediate family, natural disaster, and military obligations.

How do I withdraw from all of my classes after Schedule Adjustment ends?

A Junior Division student who registers and later decides to quit attending classes must initiate resignation procedures in 115 Lee Hall. An Upper Division student must go to his or her Academic Dean's office. Students with severe extenuating circumstances which prevent resigning in person may contact Student Affairs.

How does Repeating a Class affect my GPA?

Students who have taken a course at UL Lafayette more than once may complete a "report the repeat" form in the Registrar’s Office, 171 Martin Hall - 482-6299. The adjusted GPA is recalculated using only the last grade earned. Students should fill out a repeat form during the semester in which they are repeating a course rather than after the semester. The cumulative GPA (w/out repeats) will be used for probation and suspension, all rankings, honors, scholarships, insurance discounts, financial aid (including TOPS) and will be the only GPA on transcripts. The adjusted GPA (w/repeats) will be used for graduation and progression to Upper Division.
