UL Lafayette: Junior Division: Learning Center: Tutoring Lab: Certification

The Learning Center has gained International Tutor Program Certification Level I from the College Reading and Learning Association.

The College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certifies tutoring programs, which in turn certifies tutors. In order to receive level I certification a tutor must:

Have completed at least 1 college semester
Have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher
Have an A or B in all coursework they will be tutoring in
Have a letter of recommendation from each department they are tutoring for
Attend employee orientation each semester
Complete 10 hours of tutor training within the first year of hire
Complete 25 hours of tutoring within the first semester of hire
Continue to complete 3 hours of training each additional semester after the first year of hire
