The Learning Center has gained International Tutor Program Certification Level I from the College Reading and Learning Association.
 
The College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certifies tutoring programs, which in turn certifies tutors. In order to receive level I certification a tutor must:
  • Have completed at least 1 college semester
  • Have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher
  • Have an A or B in all coursework they will be tutoring in
  • Have a letter of recommendation from each department they are tutoring for
  • Attend employee orientation each semester
  • Complete 10 hours of tutor training within the first year of hire
  • Complete 25 hours of tutoring within the first semester of hire
  • Continue to complete 3 hours of training each additional semester after the first year of hire
